Rivercrest (also known as South Bank) is a small development in eastern Loudoun County. It is bordered by the Potomac River to the north, Lowes Island to the east, Sugarland Run (the waterway, not the neighborhood) to the west and Algonkian Parkway to the south. Surrounded by park land and trees (Algonkian Regional Park), there are abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing, jogging, bird watching, dog walking, and the like.
It is a perfect commuting location - just across the Fairfax County line - with easy access to Route 7, Route 28 & Fairfax County Parkway. Shopping is abundant with the Dulles Town Center mall just a few miles up the road.
Fourth of July Parade starts promptly at 9:30 a.m. from the corner of Clifton's Point and River Bank. Carnival immediately after at the pool parking lot.
Don't forget to bring a frog for the 2nd annual frog jumping contest and an empty stomach for the "Pigs in a Blanket" eating contest.
